More than words. Understanding the underlying nuances of each message and finding the best way to convey them.
I have been working as a freelance translator since 2008, with more than four million words translated from Spanish to my native English. My client base consists of small business and large corporations located throughout Spain and the rest of the world, but my office is in Alicante, Spain.
In addition, I have five years of project management experience at a localization agency in Washington DC (M2 Limited). This has provided me with insight regarding the issues faced by agencies and end-clients, such as budgets, quality and reliability, allowing me to understand their expectations, challenges and priorities. It has also given me a technical and methodological mindset as to how translation projects should be planned, organized and executed.

A: As Shakespeare wrote, “What’s in a name?” Almudena is a very traditional Spanish name, but I am 100% American at heart. My family relocated to the United States before my first birthday, and I grew up speaking Spanish at home and English everywhere else. Although I treasure the American way of life I experienced for so many years, there was always something pulling me back to my European roots. So, around my 30th birthday, I set out on a new adventure and returned to Spain, where I currently reside in Alicante with my Spanish husband. I am completely bicultural, but English is my native language and I only translate from Spanish to English.
A: No, I only accept projects that I am able to complete on my own in terms of the deadline and the subject matter in question. If the timeframe is too short or if the field does not fall within one of my areas of expertise, I will kindly decline the project.
A: This will depend on a number of factors, such as the difficulty of the text, the number of words, the format of the original document, and my existing workload. My aim is to complete the work as quickly as possible, without sacrificing quality in any way, and I provide clients with honest and realistic delivery timeframes.
